Convert one CSV or a batch of supplier files
You do not need Git, WordPress, coding experience, or a payment card to test the free converter. This walkthrough uses the example file included with the app.
Status: Free beta. No payment, purchase, or membership is currently available.
1. What you need
A modern browser and a supplier CSV with columns identifying each item, its price, and at least one variation such as size or color. A consistent Group Key helps group each item's variations.
2. Convert your first file
Step 1 — Choose files
Open the converter. Click Choose CSV files and choose one or several CSV files, or drag them into the dashed area. You can also click Use example data. The batch panel lists every file by name, size, detected row count and status. Read 100% confirms browser-local file reading is finished; it is not an internet upload.
Step 2 — Review column mapping
Click Review columns next to the file you want. Check the suggested Product name, Parent grouping key, Variation SKU, Size, Color, Regular price and Stock quantity. Mappings are stored separately for each selected CSV. Changing a mapping invalidates its previous conversion until you reconvert.
Step 3 — Convert
Click Convert selected file for one file, or Convert all ready files to process each loaded file with its own automatically guessed mapping. Conversion is local and can finish almost instantly for small files. The status will change to Converted ✓ or Needs attention. For our included example, expect 5 supplier rows, 2 parent products and 5 variations.
Step 4 — Inspect the output
Use the selected file's output preview. Parent rows have Type = variable, child rows Type = variation, and child Parent matches the parent SKU. If a file has errors, it stays in the queue while other valid files can succeed.
Step 5 — Save your results
Click Download CSV on an individual file to save one result, or Download converted CSVs as ZIP to download all successful outputs together. The ZIP contains a separate WooCommerce CSV for each successfully converted input file. Unsuccessful files are excluded and identified on screen.
3. Prepare your own supplier file
| Column | Sample value | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Product Name | Classic T-Shirt | Yes |
| Group Key | TSHIRT-100 | Recommended |
| Variant SKU | TSHIRT-100-S-BLK | Optional |
| Size | S | Size or Color required |
| Color | Black | Size or Color required |
| Price | 10.00 | Yes; digits only |
| Stock | 25 | Optional whole number |
| Image URL | https://example.com/image.jpg | Optional valid public URL |
Save as UTF-8 CSV. Do not put currency symbols or commas into numbers. Avoid blank attribute values, duplicate SKUs, and repeated Size + Color combinations within the same group.
4. Import into WooCommerce safely
- Back up your store, then open a staging/test store.
- Go to Products → All Products → Import.
- Choose the generated
woocommerce_<source-name>_<id>.csvfile. - Keep Update existing products unchecked for this new-product workflow; select Continue.
- Review auto-mapped columns; confirm Type, SKU, Name, Parent, Regular price, Stock and attribute columns.
- Run the importer. Inspect one variable product in the admin and on the storefront. Verify attributes, prices and stock levels.

5. Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Convert button disabled | Load a file first and review the mapping. |
| Mapping error | Choose separate supplier columns for each required target field. |
| Duplicate combination | Remove or correct repeated Size + Color for the same Group Key. |
| Invalid price | Use plain numerals (e.g., 10.50), no $ signs or thousands separators. |
| Images missing from imported store | Use real publicly reachable image URLs and check remote-image access. |
| Products import but variations differ | Ensure matching attribute names/values and review import mapping on staging. |
6. Privacy, pricing and product scope
CSV reading, mapping, validation, and export run in your browser; the beta does not upload supplier catalogs or run analytics. The current free converter has no checkout. Proposed paid enhancements are neither implemented nor for sale.
